Could we have Southern Recipe in our name without having a go-to recipe for Fried Green Tomatoes? Absolutely not. This one is enhanced by the savory, bold taste and crunch of our pork rinds.
Ingredients:
2 cups Southern Recipe Small Batch Pork Rinds, finely crushed
¼ cup butter or vegetable oil
3 green tomatoes
¾ cup almond milk
¾ cup flour
2 eggs, whisked
Your favorite relish or salsa to top
Directions:
Place almond milk, flour, crushed pork rinds, and eggs in separate dishes.
Cut the green tomatoes in to thick slices (about ½ inch thick). Dip each tomato slice into the milk, then flour, then egg, and finally in the crushed pork rinds.
Fry each tomato in the butter or oil for about 3-4 minutes per side over medium high heat. Drain any excess oil on a paper towel. Enjoy!
